A rectangular hall has semicircular ends on the breadth -wise sides . if the dimension of the rectangular portion are 12m and 7m calculate the area of the hall.

here's ur answer...

let divide the hall in three parts.

one is rectangular and two other are semicircular.

given the Length of the rectangular part is 12m and breadth is 7m.

area of the rectangular part = l×b

= 12×7

= 84m²

the semicircular ends are in the breadth of the rectangular part.

therefore diameter of the semicircular part is 7m and radius will be = 7/2m

there are two semicircular parts, therefore if we join them. it will form a circle.

area of the both semicircular part = πr² (as it form a circle)

= 22/7×7/2×7/2

= 11×7/2

= 77/2

= 38.5m²

hence, total area of the hall = 84+38.5

= 122.5m²
