A Rectangular is an table is there times as long it is width if its 3m shorter and 3m wonder it would be square . find the length and breadth of kitchen table

 ANS: Let length of table is x metres and width is y metres.

Therefore , x= 3y ...... Equation (1)

Since, If it was 3 m shorter and 3 m wider it would been a square. 

Therefore,  x-3 = y+3  

=> x = y+6 ..................Equation (2)

Putting the value of x= 3y in Equation(2)

3y = y+6

3y-y = 6

2y = 6

y =6/2 = 3 metres

x= 3y = 3(3) =9 metres

Therefore , the dimension of the rectanglular kitchen table is length = 9metres and width = 3 metres.
