a rectangular lawn 80 m*60 m has to roads each 10m wide running in the middle of it one parallel to the length and other parallel to the breadth find the cost of gravelling them at rs 1. 20 per square metre

Area of the road parallel to the length :
Length =80m breadth =10m
Area=800sq m
Area of the road parallel to the breadth :
Length =60m
Breadth =10m
Area =600sq m
Total area =1400sq m
In middle there would be a square each of sides 10.
Area of the square =side sq =100m
Now, 1400-100=1 300m square
Per square meter=1300/20
60
Cost =60*₹1
Cost =₹60
