lenght of sheet= 8.5×100= 850cm
width of sheet = 3.8× 100= 380 cm
area of rectangular sheet = (850) ×(380)==
=323000

area of each box = 2(lb× bh×hl)
==============2[(17×19) +(19×5) + (5×17)]
A= 2(323 +95 +85)= 1006cmsq

Total box can be made = 323000/1006 = 321

Given :-

Dimensions of the Sheet :

  • Length of the Sheet = 8.5m = 850cm
  • Breadth of the Sheet = 3.8m = 380cm

Dimensions of the Box :

  • Length of the Box = 17cm
  • Breadth of the Box = 19cm
  • Height of the Box = 5cm

 \\ \\

To Find :-

  • How many Closed Boxes can be made from the Sheet.

 \\

Solution :-

➞ T.S.A of Box = 2( lb + bh + hl )

➞ T.S.A of Box = 2( 17 × 19 + 19 × 5 + 5 × 17 )

➞ T.S.A of Box = 2( 323 + 95 + 85 )

➞ T.S.A of Box = 2( 323 + 180 )

➞ T.S.A of Box = 2 × 503

➞ T.S.A of Box = 1006cm²

Thus, T.SA of the Box = 1006cm²

________________

➞ Area of Sheet = Length × Breadth

➞ Area of Sheet = 850 × 380

➞ Area of Sheet = 323000cm²

Thus, Area of Sheet = 323000cm²

________________

➞ No. of Boxes = Area of Sheet / T.S.A of Box

➞ No. of Boxes = 323000 / 1006

➞ No. of Boxes = 321 boxes { approx }

Thus, 321 boxes can be made from the Sheet.
