Answer:

The area of the remaining part is 261.5 m².

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Length of a rectangular piece, l = 20 m

Breadth of a rectangular piece, b = 15 m

Radius of a quadrant,r = 3.5 m

Area of rectangle, A1 = l × b

A1 = 20 × 15 = 300 m²

A1 = 300 m²

Area of quadrant, A2 = ¼ πr²

A2 = ¼ × 22/7 × (3.5)²

A2 = (11 × 0.5 × 3.5)/2

A2 = (5.5 × 3.5)/2

A2 = 19.25/2

A2 = 9.625

Area of quadrant = 9.625 m²

Area of the remaining part ,A = Area of rectangle - 4× Area of quadrant

A = A1 -  4×A2

A = 300 - 4 × 9.625

A = 300 - 38.5

A = 261.5  m²

Area of the remaining part = 261.5 m²

Hence, the area of the remaining part is 261.5 m².
