A rectangular piece is 20m long and 15m wide from its four corners, quadrants of 3.5m radius have been cut.

r=3.5m

area of rectangular piece=l×b

=20×15


area of rectangular piece=300sqm

now

area of the part which is cut

4×1/4πr×r=πr×r=22/7×3.5×3.5

=22/7×12.25=22×1.75

=38.5sq.m

area of the remaining part

=area of rectangie-area of part which is cut

=300-38.5=262.5sqm

The area of remaining part is 262.5sqm
