Solutions :-

Given :
Length of the area to be laid with grass = {85 - (5 + 5)} m = 75 m
Breadth of the area to be laid with grass = {60 - (5 + 5)} = 50 m

Find the area to be laid with grass :-

Area of rectangle = (Length × Breadth) sq. units
= (75 × 50) m²
= 3750 m²

Hence,
The area to be laid with grass = 3750 m²

Solution:-

Area of Rectangular Plot = Length × Breadth
=> 85 × 60
=> 5100 m^2.

Now,

New length = 85 - 5 - 5m = 75m
& Breadth = 60 - 5 - 5 = 50m

Area = 75 × 50
=> 3750m^2

Area with grass = 3750 m^2

Area left without grass = 5100 - 3750
=> 1350m^2
