A rectangular plot has dimensions (m + 6 ) units by (m + 4) units. It is bought by Mr Dev who took a loan of Rs 50,000 to buy the land. The loan of Rs 50,000 has to be paid together after 3 years at 2% rate of interest per annum at simple interest.
Answer the given questions based on the given situation.
i) What is the area of the rectangular plot?
a)m^2 + 10 m + 24 b) m^2 - 10 m + 24
c) m^2 + 10 m - 24 d) m^2 - 10 m - 24
ii) What is the total amount Mr Dev will have to pay after 2 years to the bank?
a)Rs 52,000 b) Rs 53,000 c) Rs 50,000 d) Rs 55,000
iii) What is the cost of land if 1sq.m costs Rs 1000 and value of ‘m’ is 2
a) Rs 45,000 b) Rs 48,000 c) Rs 50,000 d) Rs 49,000

Answer:

01. (a) The area of Rectangular plot is m²+10m+24,

02. (a) Mr. Dev has to pay Rs.52,000 after 2 years to the bank and,

03. (b) The cost for the land would be Rs.48,000.

Step-by-step explanation:

→Given,

the dimensions of Rectangular Plot (m+6)×(m+4)

i.e., length=m+6 units and breadth=m+4 units

Area of Rectangular Plot=length×breadth

⇒Area of Rectangular Plot=(m+6)×(m+4)

⇒Area of Rectangular Plot=m×(m+4)+6×(m+4)

⇒Area of Rectangular Plot=m×m+m×4+6×m+6×4

⇒Area of Rectangular Plot=m²+4m+6m+24

∴Area of Rectangular Plot=m²+10m+24.------->(a)

Now we know that Mr. Dev took a loan of 50,000 at a rate of interest of 2% per annum for 3 years.

We are asked to find out the total amount Mr. Dev has to pay the bank after 2 years.

To find this first we need to calculate the Simple Interest for 2 years and then add to the Principal amount and that is the amount Mr. Dev has to pay the bank after 2 years.

We know that,

Simple Interest=Principal×Rate×Time

Here, Principal=50,000, Rate=2%=\frac{2}{100} and Time=2years

Substituting the values in the given formula,

Simple Interest=50,000×\frac{2}{100} ×2

∴Simple Interest=2,000

Now, the total amount=Principal+Simple Interest

⇒total amount=50,000+2,000

∴total amount= Rs.52,000---------->(a)

→ Given, cost of land per sq.m=Rs. 1,000 and m=2

∴Length=m+6=2+6=8m

Breadth=m+4=2+4=6m

Hence, the area of rectangular plot=length×breadth

⇒area of rectangular plot=8×6

⇒area of rectangular plot=48 m²

Now from question we know that the cost of land for 1m²= Rs.1,000

Then, Cost for 48m²=48×1,000

∴Cost of the land= Rs.48,000-------->(b)
