area to be painted= area of four walls +area of roof

= 2h(l+b) + lb

= 2*3(10+6)+10*6

= 6(16)+60

= 96+60

=156m2

the area of window and doors=6m2

the cost of painting the walls and roof=150*75

= Rs 11250

Given:

Length of the room=10m

The breadth of the room=6m

Height of the room=3m

Rate of painting=Rs.75/m sq

To find:

The total cost of painting the room

Solution:

The total cost for the room is Rs.11,250.

The required area of the room to be painted includes the four walls' area and the roof's area.

The required area of the room=area of 4 walls+area of the roof

Using the values,

Area of the room=2(length+breadth)height+length×breadth

=2(10+6)×3+10×6

=2×16×3+60

=96+60

=156 m^{2}

The area to be painted=Area of four walls+area of the roof-area of the windows and doors

=156-6

=150 m^{2}

The cost of painting=rate×total area

=75×150

=Rs.11,250

Therefore, the total cost for the room is Rs.11,250.
