cost of typing an English page is rs 10 and for the typing Hindi pages are 20 if total bill for typing English (x) and Hindi (y) pages is that 80 then write the linear equation which satisfies this data draw the graph for the same

As per data given ,

i ) Number of English papers typed = x

Cost of typing the each page = Rs 10

Total cost for typing english pages = Rs10x ----( 1 )

Number of Hindi papers typed = y

Cost of typing the each page = Rs 20

Total cost of typing the hindi pages = Rs 20y ---( 2 )

Total typing bill = Rs80

( 1 ) + ( 2 ) = 80

10x + 20y = 80 thos is the required linear equation.

ii ) To draw the graph we need at least two points.

10x + 20y = 80

Divide each term with 10 we get

x + 2y = 8 ----( 3 )

Put x = 0 in equation ( 3 ),

2y = 8

y = 4

One piint is ( x , y ) = ( 0 , 4 )

Put y = 0 in equation ( 3 )

x = 8

Second point = ( 8 ,0 )

Plot these points on the graph and join them

You get a line .
