Let the radius of the base be r cm
So, Breadth of the rectangle = Circumference of the base
⇒ 16 = 2πr
⇒ 16/2π = r
⇒ 8/π = r
⇒ r = 8/π
Volume of the cylinder = πr²h
= π * ( 8/π )² * 42
= π * 8²/π² * 42
= 64/π * 42
= 64/ (22/7) * 42
= 64 * 7/22 * 42
= 18816/22 = 855.27 cm³
Therefore the volume of the cylinder is 855.27 cm³.
