A rectangular swimming pool 29 m long 30 m widh 1.5 m deep need to be tiled. Tile is 50cm*50cm. How much tile is required

Length, l = 29 m ; breadth, b = 30 m ; height, h = 1.5 m

Area to be tiled = Total surface area - Area of the top


Total surface area = 2(lb + lh + bh) = 2(870 + 45 + 43.5) = 1,917 m​2


Area of the top = 29 × 30 = 870 m2


Area to be tiled = 1917 - 870 = 750 m2 = 10,470,000 cm​2

side of each tile, s = 50 cm


Area of each tile = s​2 = 50×50 = 2500 cm2


∴ Number of tiles that will be required = 10470000 / 2500 = 4188 titles
