Before reduction of cost.

let X kg purchase by at rupees 120

the price of 1kg=(120/x) ------------(1)

now after reduction of cost (x+3)kg can we purchase.

price of 1kg =(120 /x+3)-----------------(2)

the price at 20% decreas

=120/x-(20/100×120/x)

=120/x-24/x120/x+ 3

=96/x=120/x+3

=24x=288

x=12

previously 12 kg of sugar can we purchase at 120

original price =120/x. [using]

=120/12=10.
