Let the price be x.

The price after the reduction is :

0.8x

The quantity obtained is :

160/0.8x

The quantity before is :

160/x

This is 2 kg less after decrees in price hence

160/x + 2 = 160/0.8x

160 + 2x = 160x/0.8x

160 + 2x = 160/0.8

160 × 0.8 + 2x × 0.8 = 160

128 + 1.6x = 160

1.6x = 160 - 128

1.6x = 32

x = 20

The original cost is Rs 20
