A refrigerator is to maintain eatables kept inside at 9°C. If room temperature is 36° C, calculate the coefficient of performance.

Concept :- coefficient of performance of a refrigerator is given by B = T2/(T1 - T2) where, T1 and T2 are the temperatures of source and sink respectively.

solution :-
Here,
temperature of the source = 36°C
= 36 + 273 = 309 K
temperature of the sink ( T2) = 9 + 273 = 282K
Coefficient of performance of a refrigerator .
B = T2/(T1 - T2)
= 282/(309 - 282)
= 282/27
= 10.4
