A refrigerator is to maintain eatables kept inside at 9°C. If room temperature is 36° C, calculate the coefficient of performance.

\bold{Answer}

Temperature in refrigerator

T1 = 9°C = 282 K

Temperature in room

T2 = 36°C = 309 K

\bold{Coefficient\: of\: performance}

= T1 / (T2 - T1)

= 282 / (309 - 282)

=\bold{10.44}

The coefficient of performance of the given refrigerator is 10.44

\bold{Thanks}

Let Temperature within the refrigerator = T₁ .

Let Room Temperature = T₂ .

Convert to Kelvin

T₁ = 9° C

⇒ 273 + 9 K

⇒ 282 K

T₂ = 36° C

⇒ 273 + 36 K

⇒ 309 K

Coefficient of performance

Coefficient\:of\:performance=\frac{T_1}{T_2-T_1}\\\\\implies \frac{282K}{309K-282K}\\\\\implies \frac{282K}{27K}\\\\\implies 10.4444...

ANSWER :

10.44

NOTE :

Do convert and change the temperature to Kelvin otherwise the answer will come different .

Note the formula for co efficient is \frac{T_1}{T_2-T_1} .

We need to add 273 to the value of Celsius to convert to Kelvin .
