A resistance of 10 ohm is bent to form a circle. What will be the effective resistance between the two points at the end any diameter of the circle?

when the wire is made into a circle and when 2 points int he ends of the diameter are considered then the resistor willget split up into 2

resitors each of 5 ohms and these 2 resistors will be in \\ connection

i.e..

    Re=(1/5+1/5)^(-1)      which we will get in substiting the \\ resistence formula 

when we equate it we'll get 2.5 ohm

The length of the wire between two points at the end of a diameter will be half of the complete circular wire.  Resistance of wire between two points  = 10/2 = 5  The two sections is R eq, we have  1/Req = 1/5 + 1/5 = 2/5  Req = 2.5
