200 will be cost price and profit is 100= 300-200 which means it is 50% of the cp so he provide or generate 35% of profit which give 50-35 = 15 is the discount rate

retailer buys shirts @ of rs 200 per shirt .

and ,

mark the selling price of rs 300 per shirt .

than he allowed some discount and earn a profit of 35% .

now ,

35% of cost price = 200/100×35 = rs 70

now ,

total selling price = rs 270

and the marked price = rs 300. ( given )

now ,

discount allowed = 300-270 = rs 30

hence he allows discount of rs 30 .

hope it helps !!
