A ribbon is 10 ft long , if we cut it into two parts then one is two times the other , find the lenght of both pieces.

1 ft= 30 cm
10 f= 300cm
now it is said that the first part is twice the other so,
let one of them=x
and now the second part would be 2x (given)
according to the question
x+2x=300cm
3x=300
x=300÷3
x=100

now one piece length =x
100cm
and second piece length =2x
2×100=200
