here l be the first length and b is the second length such as b=2l then according to questions l+b =10 or l+2l=10 or 3l=10 then l=10/3=3.3 ft and then b=2*3.3=6.6

then length of another piece is '2x'
according to the question,
x+2x=10
=>3x=10
=>x=10/3
=>x=3.33
and 2x=2×3.33=6.66
