The area of the shaded portion = 54.5 cm^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

AC = 8 cm

BC = 6 cm

AB = 10 cm

Area of the Δ ABC = BC (\frac{AC}{2} )

⇒ A = 0.5 × 8 × 6

⇒ A = 24 cm^{2} ------- (1)

Area of the circle = \pi r^{2}

r = radius of the circle = OB = 5 cm

A_{circle} = 3.14 × 25

A_{circle} = 78.5 cm^{2} -------- (2)

Now the area of shaded portion = Area of circle - Area of the triangle

A_{shaded} = 78.5 - 24

A_{shaded} = 54.5 cm^{2}

Thus the area of the shaded portion = 54.5 cm^{2}
