Given  :  A right-circular cylinder having its radius and height 10 cm is cut into 3 equal parts along its diameter.

To Find  : the volume of the middle part

Solution:

Radius = 10 m

Height = 10 m

Volume  = (1/3)πr²h  =  π * 10² * 10  = 1000π  cm³

Cut in 3 Equal parts

Hence Volume of each part  = (1/3) * 1000π  cm³

Volume of middle part =   1000π / 3    cm³

Question would have been interesting if its been a cone as then volume of each part will change

if total volume is 27k  then top part is  k   and   middle part is( 8k - k) = 7k

Hence middle part volume = ( 7/27)  of volume of original cone.
