a right triangle abc with sides 5cm,12cm,and 13cm is revolved about the side 12cm . find the vloume of the solid so formed . of triangle abc is revolved about the side 5cm the find the volume of the solid os formed . find also the ratio of the volumes of the two solids obtained​

Let ABC right triangle with AB=12cm, BC=, 5cm and AC=13cm

when this triangle is revolved about AB It forms a right circular cone of radius BC=5 cm and height AB=12 cm

Volume 1=

volume of solid formed =volume of cone of radius 5 cm and height 12cm

 \frac{1}{3}  \times \pi \times 5 \times 5 \times 12 = 100 \: \pi \: {cm}^{3}

When T triangle ABC is revolved about ABC it forms a right circular cone of radius AB= 12 cm and height BC=5cm

Volume 2=

volume of cone of radius 12 cm and height 5cm

=

 \frac{1}{3}  \times \pi \times 12 \times 12 \times 5 = 240\pi {cm}^{3}

Required ratio= volume 1: volume 2

=

100\pi  \div 240\pi
