If temperature doesn't change . now valve is opened , and half of mass of the gas is allowed to escape , it means pressure of gas decreases from 4atm to 2atm .
here, final pressure of the tank is 2.2 atm > 2atm . It means temperature of the tank increases. Use formula,
P₁/T₁ = P₂/T₂
⇒2 atm / (273 + 40) = 2.2 atm / (273 + T)
⇒313 × 22/20 = 273 + T
⇒ 344.3 - 273 = T
⇒ 71.3°C = T
Hence, temperature is 71.3°C
here, final pressure of the tank is 2.2 atm > 2atm . It means temperature of the tank increases. Use formula,
P₁/T₁ = P₂/T₂
⇒2 atm / (273 + 40) = 2.2 atm / (273 + T)

Hence, temperature is 71.3°C
