Given :

  • Height of river is 3 m .
  • Width of river is 40 m
  • Rate of flow is 2 km/h .

To Find :

  • How much Water will fall into the sea in a minute .

Solution :

\longmapsto\tt{Height=3\:m}

\longmapsto\tt{Width=40\:m}

\longmapsto\tt{Length=2\:km = 2000\:m}

As we know that :

\longmapsto\tt{1\:min.=60\:sec.}

Now ,

\longmapsto\tt{Volume\:of\:Water=\dfrac{200{\not{0}}\times{40}\times{{\not{3}}}}{{\not{6}}{\not{0}}}}

\longmapsto\tt{\cancel\dfrac{8000}{2}}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{4000\:{m}^{3}}

In litres :

\longmapsto\tt{4000\times{1000}}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{4000000\:l}

So, in 1 minute, 4000000 l of water will fall ..

  • Volume of Cuboid = l × b × h
  • C.S.A of Cuboid = 2h(l+b)
  • T.S.A of Cuboid = 2(lb+bh+hl)
  • Volume of Cube = a³
  • C.S.A of Cube = 4a²
  • T.S.A of Cube = 6a²

Here :

  • a = side of cube
  • l = length
  • b = breadth
  • h = height
