A road roller takes 750 complete revolutions to move once over to level a road. Find the area of the road if the diameter of a road roller is 84 cm and length is 1 m.

Sol: Diameter of the road roller = 84 cm

Radius of the road roller = 42 cm 

Length of the road roller = 1 m = 100 cm 

CSA of the road roller = 2πrh = 2 x 22/7 x 42 = 264 cm2 Area of the road levelled in one revolution = 264 cm2 Area of the road levelled in 750 revolutions = 264 x 750 = 198000 cm2 Area of the road = 198000 cm2 = 19.8 m2
