It is cut in the ratio of 7:5

Now, longer piece = 7X

Smaller piece = 5X

According to the question.....

5X = 45.5 cm

X = 45.5/5

= 9.1 cm

Now,

Bigger piece of rod = 7X

= 7× 9.1

= 63.7 cm
