A room 9.5 m long and 6 n wide is surrounded by a 1.25 m wide verandah . Calculate the cost of cementing the floor of this varendah at Rs 80 per metre square

area of room = length * breadth
= 9.5 m * 6 m
= 57 metre square
Then we will find length and breadth of veranda

length = 9.5 + 1.25 * 2
= 12 m
breadth = 6 + 1.25 * 2
= 8.5 m
Area of veranda = length * breadth
= 12 m * 8.5 m
= 102 metre square

Cost of cementing 1 metre square = Rs 80
Cost of cementing 102 metre square = Rs 80 * 120
Cost of cementing = Rs 9600

area of room=9.5m × 6m=57.0m square

area of whole=(9.5m+1.25m)×(6m+1.25)=10.75m×7.25m=77.9375m square

area of verandah=20.9375m square

cost of cementing=20.9375×80=₹1675
