A room has a floor measuring 15m by 8 m. It has to be covered with tiles of size 50cm by 25cm . How many tiles are required ?If a carpet is laid on the floor so that a space of 1.5 m is left around the edges of floor , what fraction of the floor is uncovered.

area of floor÷area of 1 tile=120×100×100/1250=960 tiles
