Step-by-step explanation:

The area of walls = LSA of a rectangle

= 2h(l + b)

= 2 × 2.5(6 + 8)

= 5(14)

 = 70 {m}^{2}

Area of door = l × b

= 1.5 × 2

 = 3 {m}^{2}

So the area to be painted

 = 70 {m}^{2}  - 3 {m}^{2}  = 67 {m}^{2}

Cost of painting 1 coat for 1 sq metre = $6.20

Cost of painting 1 coat for 67 sq metre = 67 × $6.20

= $415.40

Cost of painting 2 coats for 67 sq metre = 2 × $415.40

= $830.80

Solution :-

we have,

→ Area of four walls of room = 2(L + B) * H = 2(6 + 8) * 2.5 = 5 * 14 = 70 m² .

now,

→ Area of two rectangular doors = 2 * (L * B) = 2 * 1.5 * 2 = 6 m² .

So,

→ Remaining area of four walls = 70 - 6 = 64 m² .

now,

→ Paint cost = $ 6.20 / m²

→ Total cost to paint four walls = 64 * 6.20 = $ 396.80

therefore,

→ Total cost to paint 2 coats = 2 * 396.8 = $ 793.60 .
