Let x= Equal number of men or women
Men = x
Women = x
Since both are equal at the start.
Men = x
Women = x-8
This is when 8 women left.
And so.. our equation in finding x is
x = 2(x-8)
It basicall means that twice the women equals the number of men.
In finding x..
x=2x-16
-x=-16
x=16
Then multiply it by 2 since there were equal gender which is 32 people at the stwrt specifically 16 women and 16 men.
