SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

Length of the room = 10m

Breath of the room = 6m

Area of the room = Length × Breath = 6 × 10 = 60m²

Length of room + verandah = 10 + 2 + 2 = 14m

Breath of the room + verandah = 6 + 2 + 2 = 10m

Area of the room + Verandah = 14 × 10 = 140m²

Area of the verandah = Area of room along with verandah - Area of room

= 140 - 60

= 80m²

Cost flooring per square area of verandah = Rs 236

Cost of flooring 80m² area = 80 × 236 = Rs 18,880
