Answer is 315 stones.

Explanation

Given ,

  • Length of the room = 16 m.
  • Width of the room = 12 m.

This room is surrounded by Veranda which contains ,

  • Width = 3.5 m.

The measurements of the stone ,

  • Length = 7 dm = 0.7 m
  • Witdth = 5 dm = 0.5 m

So,

Length of the Total Region ( Veranda + Room )

  • = 16 + 3.5 = 19.5 m

Width ,

  • = 12 + 3.5 = 15.5 m

Now ,

Area of the Total Region ( veranda + Room )

  • Area of the Total Region ( veranda + Room )= Length x width
  • = 19.5 x 15.5
  • = 302.25 m²

And the Area of the Room having 16 m length and 12 m width.

  • And the Area of the Room having 16 m length and 12 m width.= Length x Width
  • = 16 x 12
  • = 192 m²

➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢➢

Thus Area of the Veranda will be ,

  • Area of Full space - Area of room
  • = 302.25 - 192 m²
  • = 110.25 m²

Now , we need to calculate the Area of Stone "having length 0.7 m and Width 0.5 m" , will be ,

  • Length x Width
  • = 0.7 x 0.5 m²
  • = 0.35 m²

Finally , The no. of stones which will be put in the Veranda is ,

  • = Area of veranda ÷ Area of stone
  • = 110.25 m² ÷ 0.35 m²
  • = 315 Stones.
