Given :-

  • Length of Room = 8m
  • Breadth of Room = 5m
  • Side of Carpet = 3m

 \\ \\

To Find :-

  • Area of the floor which is not carpeted

 \\ \\

Solution :-

In this question, Length and Breadth of a Room is given and side of a carpet is also given , Now we have to find the area of floor which is not carpeted, for this we will find the Area of the Room and Area of the Carpet then, we will Substract them both to find the area of non - carpeted floor.

 \\

→ Area of Room = Length × Breadth

→ Area of Room = 8 × 5

→ Area of Room = 40m²

________________

→ Area of Carpeted floor = (Side)²

→ Area of Carpeted floor = Side × Side

→ Area of Carpet floor = 3 × 3

→ Area of Carpeted floor = 9m²

________________

→ Area of Non-Carpeted floor = Area of Room - Area of Carpeted floor

→ Area of Non-Carpeted floor = 40 - 9

→ Area of Non-Carpented floor = 31m²

________________

Therefore, Area of non carpeted floor is 31m²
