Given :

A room measuring 7m by 6m is to be covered by square tile of side 50cm

To Find :

find the numbers of tile required to cover the floor. If the cost of one tile is Rs 60,find the total cost of tiles ?

Solution:

Length of room = 7 m = 700 cm

Breadth of room = 6 m = 600 cm

Area of floor = Length \times Breadth = 700 \times 600 = 420000 cm^2

Side of square tile = 50 cm

Area of square tile = Side^2 = 50^2 = 2500 cm^2

No. of tiles = \frac{420000}{2500}=168

Cost of 1 tile = Rs.60

Cost of 168 tiles =168 \times 60 =10080

hence The number of tiles is 168 and cost of tiles is rs.10080
