let first peace=x

second peace=x+25

(x+x+25)+225=1000

2x+250=1000

when 250 goes other side it will be -

2x=1000-250

2x=750

X=750/2

X=425

so, the first number is 425

now, we find the second number

second number=25+X

x is equal to 425

second number=25+425

second number=450
