The wooden ball will come to rest earlier since the mass of the wooden ball is higher hence the force applied on it will be higher as well as the force of friction.

Whereas a rubber is a light material and hence will acquire only a small amount of frictional force on it.

Here is your answer

the wooden ball will stop earlier.

  • It is because the wooden ball has a higher mass.
  • Hence its inertia is higher.
  • Inertia is the tendency of an object to stop or come to rest.
  • It is directly proportional to mass.
  • Thus the body of higher inertia stops earlier.
  • Hence the wooden ball will stop first then the rubber ball .
  • The rubber ball has less inertia as compared to wooden ball.
  • Another factor is the friction.
  • The friction acts more on a body with a higher mass.
  • So wood will be subject to more friction.
  • Hence it will come to rest faster than rubber as rubber will experience less friction.

These were the factors.

Hope it helps.
