A solid at extreme cases can change its shape WHEN EXTERNAL FORCE is applied.so even if rubber band or bookchanges its shape they are solids. Iwill classify it as solid...because itsatoms are rigidly packed...the ability tostretch it is because of the special feature of the material called elasticity...
