Answer:

answer is 50

100 - 80 = 20 (1st Monday)

20+50-60 = 10 (2nd Monday)

Given : A rural library created lending facilities for only 100 books and kept the lending desk open only on Mondays.

which were the days on which it also took stock of the books.

The position of the number of books lent (L) and returned (R) on the first three Mondays (M1, M2, M3) of operation of the lending desk is presented

through a bar graph

To Find : How many books outside after stock check on  M3

Solution:

Initial Stock   =  100

M1    books lent = 80

Hence stock remained = 100 - 80 = 20

on M2

Book returned = 50

Books  lent = 60

Hence Stock  = 20 + 50 - 60  = 10

on M3

Book returned = 80

Books  lent = 40

Hence Stock  = 10 + 80 - 40  = 50

Books in Stock = 50

books outside after stock check on  M3 = 100 - 50   = 50

so 50 books outside after stock check on  M3
