Answer:

Mass of solute (sodium chloride) = 30 g

Mass of solvent (water). =250 g

Explanation:

We know,

Mass of solution =Mass of solute+Mass of solvent

= 40 g + 250 g

=290 g

Mass percentage of solution = Mass of solute/Mass of solution×100

= 30/250×100

= 12%

Answer:

solute 30

solution 250

mass by mass percent of a solution = mass of the solute ÷ mass of the solution × 100

250÷30×100

12%
