Given that, there is 1 Fe3+ for every 3 Fe2+.

So average charge is calculated as -

Charge on Fe = (1×3 + 3×2) / (1+3)

Charge on Fe = +2.25

Also, valency of O is -2. So value of x in FexO will be 2.25/2 = 1.125.

Therefore, value of x in FexO is 1.125 .
