Pressure exerted by this gas will be - 2.12 atm

Boyle's law gives the relation between pressure and volume. The law states that pressure is inversely proportional to the volume at constant temperature.

The mathematical expression will be -

P1V1 = P2V2

Here, P1 represents initial pressure, V1 represents initial volume, 02 represents final pressure and V2 represents final volume.

In the question, P1 is 1.2 atm, V1 is 2.65l, V2 is 1.5l

To find out P2, keeping the values in equation -

P2 = 1.2*2.65/1.5

P2 = 2.12 ATM

Hence, the pressure exerted will be 2.12 atm
