A sample of Moon rock weighed 30 N on the Moon.
a) What would be its weight when it was brought to the Earth?
b) What is the mass of the sample?

Explanation:

let take the weight of the object on the moon surface =w=30 N

gravitational acceleration (field strength) on moon surface = 1.625 N/kg

so, mass of the object = w/g= 30 N /1.625 N/kg= 18. 46 kg

and on the Earth surface this mass would have weight=w= mg= 18.46 kg x 9.8 N/kg= 180.92 N
