A sample of neon gas has a volume of 239.0 mL at 200.0 kPa. What would the pressure have to be in order for the gas to have a volume of 500.0 mL?

Answer:

V 1 = 239.0 mL

P 1= 200 kPa

V 2 = 500 mL

P 2 = ?

Acc . to Boyle's law,

P1 × V1 = P2 × V2

200 × 239 = P2 × 500

P2 = 200 × 239 / 500

P2 = 95.6 kPa.
