We conclude from this that the water has salt impurities inside it.

It is because:-

  • Impurities increases the boiling point of water .
  • Thus water boils from 100C to 102C
  • Also the taste of water is salty
  • So the impurities should only be salt.

The normal boiling point of water(Distilled Water) is 100°C.

But if we dissolve any type of solute in it(salt for this question) then its combined boiling of that solute and water will increase.

Therefore, we observe that water is boiling at 2°c higher than 100°c. because of salt and it tastes salty.
