Given that saree is 5m long and 1.25 m wide.

When border is printed along the 4 sides, a small rectangle of the saree would have no print.

Length of smaller rectangle = 5-2(0.2) = 4.6 and

Width of smaller rectangle = 1.25-2(0.2) = 0.85

Area of smaller rectangle= 4.6(0.85) = 3.91 sq m.

Area of printed part = total area of saree - area of smaller rectangle

= 5(1.25)-3.91 = 2.34 sqm.

Cost of printing = 2.34(2.50) = rs.5.85
