A satellite of mass 1500 kg is revolving around
earth. The radius of earth is 6400 km. Minimum
and maximum distance of satellite from surface of
on earth are 1200 km and 2400 km respectively. The
approximate time period of satellite is :-
(1) 2 h
(2) 11.5 h
(3) 19.2 h
(4) 4.07 h

Answer:

Explanation:

v = orbital velocity        we know  g = G M / R²

 gravitational force = centripetal force

  G M m / d²  =  m v² / d

       v² = G M / d  = g R² / d

       v = R √(g/d)

 ω = angular velocity =  v / R = √(g/d)

  T = time period = 2π/ ω  = 2 π √(g/d)

0n substituting ,d = 6400 + 1200 = 7600 , g = 9.8

we get, =0.22551004178

0n substituting ,d = 6400 + 2400 = 8800 , g = 9.8

we get, =0.20957107711

on adding both, we get 0.43508111889 and divide it by '2' to get average time period of satellite ,,we get = 0.21754055944
