To understand Let's us consider an example, workdone is a scalar quantity. but it doesn't a dimensionless quantity.

actually, A scalar quantity is one that must be follow algebraic sum and difference. I mean, if A and B are two scalar quantity then, of sum of it must be written (A + B).

in simple language,you can say that a scalar quantity has only magnitude whereas a vector quantity has magnitude and direction.
