A school’s cafeteria measuring 30 meters by 20 meters is to covered with square floor tiles of side 50 centimeters. How many tiles are needed?

Floor area: A : 20000 mm x 15000 mm

Tile size : B : 150 mm x 150 mm

Tiles required for floor : A ÷ B = 13333.3333. Rounded 13334 Tiles.

SKIRTING :

Perimeter: 20000 + 20000 + 15000 + 15000 mm = 70000 mm

Since tile size os just 150 mm, better go for 150 mm skirting itself (instead of 100 mm).

So permiter tiles: 70000÷150 = 466.66

Total Tiles: 13333 + 467 = 13800
