A section of concrete pipe 30 m long has an inside diameter of 1.2 m and an outside diameter of 1.8 m. What is the volume of concrete in this section of pipe

Here is yr answer......


Length = 30m


inner diameter = 1.2

r2 = 1.2/2 = 0.6


Outer diameter = 1.8

r1 = 1.8/2 = 0.9



Volume of section of concrete pipe ---


= πr2²h - πr1²h

= πh (r2²-r1²)

= 22/7 × 30(0.9² - 0.6²)

= 660/7 (0.81-0.36)

= 660/7 (0.45)

= 42.42m³
